Son of the Manse

  • The news that the German government and the EU is in dispute with AstraZeneca about supplies of the Covid vaccine is our first topic…this issue has legs so expect more on it…
  • We roast the UKGov’s invisible Scottish Secretary for his article in the Irish Times…
  • We disagree with a well written London Times piece by Hugo Rifkind…and recall the friendly and excited atmosphere of Indyref1 and the AUOB marches…
  • The new owners of the Scotsman and Evening News may have abandoned the previous strong unionist support…we ruminate…
  • We offer our support to Craig Murray who faces political charges in an Edinburgh court this week…
  • We recommend an article ( England’s Scotland Panic – What is to be done & why a mature UK debate on the union & on Scottish independence is not on the horizon ) by Kirsty Hughes of the Scottish Centre on European Relations…more to follow. (link below).

The Salmond Conspiracy

  • A fulsome press briefing was hosted by the FM and supported by the Chief Constable who revealed the changes in policing since he began on the streets.  Lots of useful Covid information was also reviewed plus the London Times hack gave us a laugh.
  • Norrie and Stewart get a wee bit heated over the Salmond Conspiracy as outlined by Iain Lawson.
  • Boris Johnson in Brussels gets roasted and if a criminal banker is a ‘bankster’ what do you call a criminal brexiteer?

Wheesht for Indy

  • We managed a remarkable amount of comment on the Sunday morning TV (and radio) which starred Gary Robertson, BBC Radio Scotland morning news anchor, and another useless Tory Minister, George Eustice.
  • We rebut a London Times story about Scotland being too poor to be independent by David Smith (who?).
  • Gerry Hassan gets some support and is exposed again as a chronic Labour supporter.
  • Mike Russell tells us many times in the National to ‘Wheesht for Indy’.

Aye Right Radio videocast 215 podcast 275. St Andrews Day

St Andrews Day

  • The shortest press briefing with the least controversy and the anticipated SNP Conference speech by FM Nicola Sturgeon still to come dominated our show today. No real clues were revealed about the Tuesday Covid levels review. Any date for a vaccination programme launch is speculative. Pilot testing of asymptomatic people has begun. Jason Leitch is not trying to kill off old folks but Mark McLaughlin of the London Times is still our top hack hyena.
  • Will there be major changes to the SNP NEC? We await the results. MSM TV and radio get roasted for their Sturgeon coverage.
  • More attacks on Joanna Cherry get aired and Stewart wonders if Unionists still celebrate St Andrews Day.
