Sunday Herald No More

I bought the Sunday Herald today with trepidation and with good reason.

The two major topics in Scotland this week were Brian Spanner the foul mouthed yoon troll and his best friends including JK Rowling and Duncan Hothersall on Twitter and the shocking sacking of journalists Graham Speirs and Angela Hagerty. OK. Strictly speaking Speirs wasn’t sacked but he was “left out to dry” in a threat from “Rangers” by Newsquest the owners of the Herald group.

To expect the editor of the Sunday Herald to go against his boss is perhaps too much. But don’t expect me or many other loyal readers to continue to buy a rag that ignores the biggest stories of the week and demeans journalism in Scotland.
